I had Basics versions of this cable. which seemed to work fine in conjunction with a dvi for two monitors. When I changed graphics cards and tried to use the two basics mini dps for my two monitors. one would always refuse to wake. If I unplugged and replugged it would work. Swapping them made no difference. I spent hours chasing down forum posts. looking for hacks and updates to fix the issue. I finally decided to just try a better cable. and viola! The issue is gone with this cable in place of the basics versions. That was it!
