    I use this thermometer mainly for making soap. I no longer have to have 2 or more thermometers in the work areas. When I first used it I double checked it with my meat thermometer and the readings were exactly the same. My meat thermometer is good but the temperature fluctuates back and forth a degree or two. This gives me almost immediate temperature. I DO STIR my oils and my lye water a little so that I get a good internal temperature but I had to do that with other thermometers. No clean-up needed.
