    Purchased for flat top grill temperature monitoring and it does just that. You can get a instant reading by pulling the trigger and letting it go or by holding the trigger down and moving thermometer side to side it reads varying temperatures on surface.

    Very pleased with the thermometer. It seems well made and gives almost instant readings of temperature in my pans when cooking. Effective when used with a fry pan as well as when heating water based foods in a saucepan..avoids the need to insert a conventional thermometer. wait and then remove and clean.

    Works well from what I can tell. I have nothing to compare it with but the results are consistent. I used it to monitor the temperature of a mobile phone and taped the trigger down to get a constant reading.
