The only drawback is when I install a same JETech brand lens protector. the lens protector is protruding out over the case.

I don’t drop my phone all that often so I can’t really comment on it’s protectiveness. But what it does provide is a thicker. more tactile grip than the bare phone itself. In the three days before I received the case. I definitely felt like the phone itself was slippery and hard to grip and that I might drop it every time I picked it up. Since being cased. have not worried about losing my grip whatsoever.
