Pretty accurate read for such an inexpensive tool. I mainly use it to check the heat on my cast irons as well as surface temp for food that I have on the grill or smoker. We compared it against a friends thermometer thay was closer to $100 and we were only off by a max of 5 degrees when going to temps over 500

When I first opened this thing I had to laugh. definitely doesn’t look like the one’s I use at work. But. I put the battery in and it’s very simple to use and it appears to be accurate. I got it to carry around on my motorcycle to check engine temps and if it works for that then I am happy and it’s small size will fit my saddle bag a little better. We will see how accurate it is my next ride.
