      I was being cheap ….and did not want to send my old monitor to recycling just because my new desktop ( yeh I know. they are almost a thing of the past) did not have a DVI slot for the second monitor. The DVI to HDMI adapter did the trick. Works fine.

      Don’t have the precise ability to measure the gold plate thickness if it is really gold or die or some type of coating.
