It’s a cable converter. It converted the signal. I have only used one of the two so far. but the first one is fine.

Recently bought a new PC with a 4-port mini HDMI video board. My monitors don’t have the HDMI connection so getting something quick at a reasonable price was wonderful

Perfect for older monitors that have DVI input and for laptops that have DVI outputs. Works both ways.

So my cheaper video card on my pc only had one hdmi port. but also had a dvi port. So hooked the hdmi up to my primary monitor. and put this in my dvi port and connected the hdmi cable to the tv. Plugged in and played. Nothing extra needed to set up. Quality of the picture will be dependent on your video card. But even with a cheaper card. the quality is probably in the hd range.
