I used this with a portable monitor which I have on the left side of my MacBook. where the thunderbolt ports are. Works fine

I recently got my old Mac mini down from the loft. The connector on the back of the computer was not a common one I was used too. Works as I expected on my Surface Pro 6 connected to a 2K monitor..I can get 60Hz. possibly 75Hz which is what I need. Smooth picture.
