it have a matte finish. it doesn’t have that extra smooth grip which is good because it doesn’t feel like it will slip from your hands. only complain that it does get hot when i am playing games on it verse my old cover. the cover side rise up so your screen is not touching if you lay it flat on a table. so does the back for the camera
