Its very difficult remove the ipad from the Smart Cover. To remove the ipad i have to pry it out using two puddly knives. One of the knives serves as a foundation so as not to dig into the cover material while prying the ipad out with the other knife.

Fits on the iPad perfectly (first version not air 2 or newer) and certainly protects the tablet though like all good cases really adds to the overall bulk of the iPad. Too new to say anything about durability but the material certainly feels good. The main flap has the magnet to wake up the pad when opened or make it snooze when the flap is closed. Nice.
