This is the second case I have purchased and very happy with it. It does not add a lot of bulk and provides protection for screen and scuffs on the back. I am not sure how much protection it offers for a 4 foot drop. but I just needed something I could use to close (and sleep) my iPad and protect the screen when not it use. Very little bulk. so it fits in briefcase/backpack/etc. very easily.
