The device will get you within 5 degrees of the true temperature which will work for most occasions that you need this for. This is not good for testing people nor is it good for when you need something super accurate; however. it is not meant to be the end all. be all device for the price. It is super easy to use. mostly accurate. and it works like a charm. For the price. it is the best you will get. If you need something completely accurate. you will need to pay more. I use it for my reptile tanks and I just need it within a few degrees and this device has made it easy. My reptiles are thriving. all thanks to this device!.It should be noted that it will change quickly on you since it can distinguish temperature quickly so do not think the device is really inaccurate.

This works great. I had to buy it to check out the major air leaks on all my new Pella windows.

I don’t know how accurate it is but it seems to work and reads temperature differences well. As long as it’s close enough that’s good enough for my crafting needs.

I tested it against our old liquid filled floating thermometer and it was spot on. I use reading glasses and had to use them to read my old floating thermometer The digital readout on the new infrared gun is easy to read without cheaters.
candice kilgo –
The description is accurate about the accuracy of the gun. It will be 2-3 degrees off but for the money it is worth it.

ive been wanting one of these for quite some time. i was happy to come across this one while perusing at a good price. i really like it. its so easy to use and i can actually see the numbers without my readers 🙂 as far as accuracy i cant say yet because i havent used it for making candy yet so havent dug out the regular old candy thermometer to compare. i did use it while making candles and since they turned out well im assuming the temp was accurate. this is so handy to have for so many things. ive only just begun =)

Great product well built and easy to use..

Exactly as expected from the description easy to use can’t comment on accuracy as nothing to compare it against but the readings seem reasonable. Used to detect drafts around conservatory/outside doors saw a 2-3 degree drop.

Does exactly what it says on the description. Instruction booklet could be a little more informative
