not sure if this is a passive or active but the P symbol on my Sapphire RX 5700 Pulse did not have the two dashes on the side but since it worked imma say passive (I could be wrong as both of these facts are conflicting). Quick heads up. don’t be an idiot like me. when plugging this into the hdmi slot you will hear almost two muffled click like sounds. MAKE SURE YOU PUSH THE HDMI PART ALL THE WAY IN AND HEAR/FEEL THE SECOND CLICK. It’s not like a normal HDMI wire and will require an extra push. even with it in half way it will not fall out and will trick you into thinking you bought a dud wire. Sometimes DP wires require you to pull the power from your monitor. turn off the pc. wait for 30 seconds and to re-plug everything and also plug in the wire for it to work. Anyhow it’s working fine now 😀

This product worked exactly as expected and I no longer have to rely on a VGA cable to see what”s being displayed.

Got a new video card that only had one HDMI and a bunch of display ports. Trying to use this cable I had a bunch of issues with the TV not detecting the signal however that might have been the video card as moving it to a different slot seems to have fixed the problem but I haven”t fully tested yet. Either way once the TV picks up the signal I don”t have problems. Cable has a clip on the display port side so you have to squeeze it to release.
