I use it all the tim.for:.Checking surface temp of radiators.( top vs bottom temp shows need for bleeding etc .).Identification of pipes in heating system. check if hot water temp at tap…..Pizza stone . bbq grill and plancha temp.internal/ surface temp of ovens..Oil temp in deep fryer.BUT No good for checking temp of food. as it only indicates surface not internal temp

I actually go this to use on my airconditioning ducts which are 12 ft high as we live in the Southwest. Worked fine and gave pretty dead on readings. Also use it on my grill now when cooking and have found other uses. Not a bad product for the money.
