This one works. but supported refresh rates are mostly 60khz. so not great for Retro PC gaming. VicTsing Gold-Plated HDMI to VGA Converter Adapter for PC seems to have wider compatiblity..In short. both work. but the smaller. VicTsing Gold-Plated HDMI to VGA Converter Adapter for PC can support higher frequency rates. upto about 85khz at some resolutions.

I bought this to use an older monitor as a 2nd side monitor to leave my email app open all the time as my PC had an unused HDMI port. It also has a 3.5mm audio out jack that I use. Both the VGA out port and audio out are working without the need for external power.
