I had recently acquired a couple of PCs which had DVI monitor connections. but I no longer own a supporting monitor. I thought if I could convert these to HDMI (1080p). then I could make use of these PCs..I connected these to the DVI ports. then ran one of my HDMI leads to my screen and voila. I had the PCs running on my TV screen.

It works as advertised. The material is not flimsy and you have a pair of adapters for a pretty good price.
