The DVI-D standard is becoming hard to find on modern graphics cards. Many newer cards only have ports for HDMI and Display Port standards. This adapter allowed an older monitor to become useful again by converting its DVI-D connection to HDMI.

My work laptop has a docking station that has mind of its own. some times monitors connect with laptop and then disconnect. Since I got this dvi to HDMI I trashed the dock station now both monitors work fine.

they work good. I tried with a 24″ Dell lcd and a 1000$ PTZ 1080p camera ( SDI and DVI) via dvi port with this adapter and worked.
