This was exactly what I needed to allow a second monitor to connect to my laptop. I had a different cable which didn’t make the monitor work and for a long time I thought the monitor was broken. After I found out that this adapter would give me a more digital signal through HDMI cable. It was cheaper than buying a whole new cable for $25.
