I just bought a second one for home-use. My first was purchased June 2018 (1-1/2 years ago). It works with Windows 7 and 10. I recommend it.

First let”s get the one glaring Con out of the way. No indicator or activity lights of any kind!In fact I really want to give this 5 stars but I can”t without an activity LED.Now that we have that out of the way this thing is otherwise pretty awesome. It”s small and lightweight enough to even throw in a purse or pocket. The performance is solid with great transfer rates and lots of features. From Wake on LAN to jumbo frames support. My particular unit contains a Realtek RTL8153 USB 3.0 to gigabit Ethernet chipset. The great news is that so far it works without issue on every device and OS I”ve tried it on including ones the listing says aren”t supported. Here”s what I”ve successfully used it with so far.- Linux (OpenSUSE 42.3) plug and play. Just works. Tried both USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports. Fine on both though obviously slower on the latter.- Windows 7. Works after Windows driver download and install. Meaning you”ll need another working network device to install it the first time.- Chromebook. Acer ARM based model. Plug and play. No driver needed.- Android Pie (9.0) via Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+. No driver needed for either. Only a USB C to USB A OTG adapter dongle.- FireTV 4k. No driver needed. Just works. If it had an activity LED this would be perfect. Even without I”m going to order a couple more because they”re inexpensive work well and appear to work on everything.

Took it out of the package and plugged in the network cable plugged it in to a slower usb and it just started working! No drivers silly install boxes just perfect networking.I would like to see it packaged in paper instead of a squeeze top plastic one hence the one star drop for ease of use. Thank you
