Note: for 4K usage, it requires device to support only 4K/30Hz, not 60Hz. Please refer to your device manual. Supports resolutions up to 4K x 2K, and flawless audio pass-thru for uncompressed digital 7.1, 5.1 or 2 channels
The low-profile connector does not block adjacent ports. The ergonomic tread is easy to plug and unplug

I used this for connecting my Surface Pro to a television monitor and using the larger screen as my primary display and my Surface Pro as the secondary display. It works perfectly and is less expensive than a docking station.
