My new screaming fast computer did not come with a VGA port. so I had to attach the monitor’s DVI port to the computer’s mini-displayport. I was afraid there might be a compatibility issue. but the monitor’s image is perfect. I couldn’t be happier.

Overall I”ve been happy with the performance of the cable but it definitely lives up to its price point. The bolts for securing the cable to your monitor aren”t made to the most exacting standards. One bolt was aligned properly and screwed in correctly but the other side was off by just enough that it took quite a bit of wrestling to align it and get it threaded. Not a big deal but a reflection of the overall quality.

Highly recommend this product but be aware it may stop working once you upgrade any Macbook to OS catalina since the computer no longer detects the external display or monitor and the only way to fix it is by using the official Apple mini display port to dvi adapter

I have an old monitor that has only DVI and VGA input. and a new laptop with only mini-display port. Before I purchased this. I had to hook it to mini Display -> HDMI. then HDMI -> VGA. The picture quality was not the best and it’s easy to have color off..Ordered and received this cable and it works great. Saved me a lot of money for not buying another monitor.
