These do data transfer and that is a big plus–many of the cords & adapters out there for the mini-usb devices like Android are charging-only.
Nothing is more frustrating than needing to move data off your phone or hook it to your car’s USB for using maps etc and finding that the cord doesn’t have the pins to support data transfer. Fortunately these are the real deal and very sturdy too.
