I purchased a clear one so that that look of the phone could show through. The bumper is thick all around. A negative is that the bumper makes for a raised edge around the back. It makes sense on the front to protect the screen face down (there is no screen protector) but on the back it would be nice for a smooth back without the lip around the edge.
