   The case fits the ipad mini 1 perfectly adding very little bulk. The magnetic clasp holds the cover shut and when you open it the device wakes up. I can’t speak yet to durability but the tri-fold cover does indeed work as a stand.

   I love these kinds of iPad covers. THe work well to protect the device and also work well for reading. the tri-fold character of the front cover allows you to fold the front cover into a triangle that allows you to effectively set up the cover as a stand so that I can read something on my iPad while eating. I use that feature all of the time.
