I had a very robust case before this. which would stand up to more bumps and bangs. but which weighed as much as the iPad which rather defeated the object of having the iPad. This case is not as robust. but will certainly save damage from most bangs and bumps. It weighs very little and it fits well. Although you can keep an Apple Pencil attached to the iPad. the case does not secure it and so it will probably fall of in your backpack or whatever. Still. great case for the money.
