Works great. Just what I needed to cook on a flat iron grill.

It is simple to use. I have used these to check electrical components . For hot and cold spots around doors and windows. I got this to go into my church toolbox.

I bought the temp gun for my brother. He may not really need it much except he earns a lot more than me so what was I going to buy him? He sometimes grills stuff outdoors.I have another one that I bought for myself previously. I pointed it at some equipment I was trying to fix to see if part of it was overheating and it seems like no part of it was overheating to a degree that would indicate damage. So it served its purpose just fine. It isn”t complicated to use and it doesn”t use up the battery unnecessarily. It can easily switch from Fahrenheit to Celsius and back. It has an LCD readout I believe to show the temperature digitally. It takes a reading very quickly so I just have to turn it on and point it. I measured inside my freezer and it showed something like 20 degrees Fahrenheit just as I expect. I pointed it at a spot on the gas stovetop right over where the pilot light is burning and I think I recall it read something like 170 F or 200 F. I know that spot burns if I touch it so it made a lot of sense.I believe it”s fairly accurate but stars are a stupid system for rating the accuracy of a temperature gun. Maybe it means you can point it at the night sky and it can count the number of stars you are pointing it at! LOL!

Accuracy suffers with distance but that”s to be expected. Overall I”m happy with it.
