Had an old samsung syncmaster 720n monitor. By nature of it”s antiquated internal tech it”s VGA connection was drawing too much power from the computer I was trying to use it with (a raspberry pi) resulting in no video output. I didn”t know old monitors could do that until I read a review here suggesting this adapter because of it”s feature of being powered. Much like the classic case of trying to use mouse from the 90s requires a powered USB hub…this adapter was the rare solution for helping me sell a custom-built arcade machine using a thrift store monitor I was about to throw away out of frustration. It even came with the micro USB cable to power it the adapter.
