I bought it for my dad using his new laptop with an old monitor. It works fine without any complain. There were 1 usb wire and 1 audio wire coming with the adaptor.

Using this with an older projector (no HDMI input) that required me to reset the resolution on the computer end. After figuring that out it worked fine.

I bought this to connect a Freeview box with an hdmi output to an old VGA monitor. Setup was fairly straightforward and after playing around with the settings on the Freeview box the quality of the picture is pretty good. The only problem I have had – and not been able to solve – is that part of the left-hand side of the picture does not display so that part of any on-screen text is sometimes obscured. I”m not sure if this is a problem with the set-top box the adapter or the monitor but no amount of fiddling with settings on the box and the monitor has resolved the issue. It”s a minor irritation though.The sound level through the monitor”s speaker was very low. I assume this is a problem with the monitor as connecting the adapter to an external speaker has solved the problem.I”ve been using this setup for a good few weeks now and no problems have arisen other than those outlined above.
