though make sure your computer is outputting: 1) the correct resolution 2) the correct refresh rate. I was having problems where I had set the correct resolution on my PC but my monitor would use a different resolution. I fixed this by changing the refresh rate.

I plugged it in turned on my computer and it worked. I didn”t need to power it and I didn”t use the audio function so this review is only in relation to the video portion of the plug.My new computer didn”t come with a VGA adaptor. My other monitor used up the DVI attachment so I had to convert the HDMI output to something my other monitor could use. Voila the Rankie HDMI to VGA adapter with 3.5mm audio port black was ordered arrived on time and worked immediately and without drama. WOrked so well I never thought about it again until asked to write this review and then I went “Oh yeah I have an HDMI to VGA adapter”.

This product works awesome for my laptop. after 6 months of continuously using it for school and work. it hasn’t failed me yet. My schooling consists of me using multiple monitors all at once (cybersecurity/IT student) and this device assists me with doing so. My laptop only has one hdmi input. and my monitors only accept VGA or DVI which is the primary reason why I bought this product. Like I said. I’ve been using this product for over 6 months now and it is still working like it is brand new! Will be buying at least two more like this soon.
