Honestly when it first arrived I thought the cord was all scratched up. But upon further inspection I realized there was a piece of plastic that was removable from the contact point. It revealed a clear gold plate that was well protected from the film. In terms of performance it is one of the best adapters I have used…..WITH A CHEAP PRICE

At least my third hdmi -> vga converter. but I needed one with sound to hook up my shiny new Roku to my battered old projector. Worked great. both picture and sounds are fine. No complaints at all.

I have a test device with HDMI output. The screen I use in my home LAB only has VGA so this adapter filled the gap at a reasonable price. Note that it comes with a USB cable for power. which I needed to make it work I am not sure whether some applications do not need the USB cable.

I have this hooked up to my VGA monitor going into an HDMI switcher that converts to a signal for my original SNES!Video out from SNES into a converter for HDMI and then plugged into this VGA-HDMI converter and then to my monitor – two adapters and still have good video quality. Sweet!
