So I’m learning some IT / Networking stuff right now. and according to the textbooks that I have this cable is an Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) Category 6 cable. I even cut open one of the extra cables I still have. In the pics. you’ll see 4 twisted pairs separated by a PLASTIC CORE to reduce crosstalk. A CAT-5 cable and CAT-5e cable have 4 twisted pairs. but no plastic core separating the twisted pairs. The cable can have metal shielding (STP = Shielded Twisted Pair) to prevent interference which makes them more expensive. but this cable is UNshielded. Anyway. I don’t have Gigabit Ethernet so I’m not sure how well this actually works. My Ethernet connection can go more than 200 Mbps.
