It does have the sleep/wake function when you close the case with the iPad however I was a bit disappointed with the backing of the case for protection i was personally hoping for something more bulky to protect my iPad. It still does the job I dropped my iPad a foot off the floor onto carpet and it was okay. It’s good for the price.
